Product Overview:

Rice bran wax is not a pure compound, but an ester mixture composed of higher fatty acids and higher monohydric alcohols. Its physical and chemical properties are generally between Sichuan wax, carnauba wax and beeswax, and close to Sichuan wax and carnauba wax. Its individual properties are better than Sichuan wax and carnauba wax, and it has better performance.

Product Details:

1. Properties and color: Rice bran wax is a tan hard solid, highly refined light brown or brown-red. After deoiling, degumming, decolorization and refining processing, it turns orange or light yellow. It has a certain hardness, brittleness, non-stickiness, fine crystallization and smooth surface.

2. Specific gravity: The specific gravity of rice bran wax is smaller than water, higher than soft waxes such as beeswax, and slightly lower than hard waxes such as Sichuan wax and carnauba wax. The specific gravity of rice bran wax is 0.97 at room temperature; it is 0.78 in liquid state at 100°C.

3. Expansion coefficient: The expansion coefficient of bran wax solid is 0.0011 at 25℃ and 0.00064 when liquid at 100℃.

4. Melting point: The melting point of refined rice bran wax is 75-80°C, which is higher than beeswax, ozokerite, and paraffin wax, and second only to Sichuan wax, carnauba wax, mondan wax, and candelilla wax.

5. Melting point rising power: The melting point rising power of rice bran wax is greater than that of beeswax, ozokerite, paraffin and other low melting point waxes, and slightly lower than that of Sichuan wax and carnauba wax.

6. Glossiness: Rice bran wax has very good gloss, which is 1.2-1.5 times that of carnauba wax and beeswax. The more refined the wax, the higher the gloss.

7. Solvent absorption rate: The solvent absorption rate of rice bran wax is between Sichuan wax, carnauba wax, beeswax and ozokerite.

8. Solvent retention rate: The solvent retention rate of rice bran wax is similar to that of Sichuan wax and carnauba wax.

9. Emulsifying performance: Rice bran wax can be emulsified to form a stable emulsion. When high-melting point rice bran wax is used as an oil-in-water emulsifier, the emulsifier is required to have a affinity-hate balance value HLB of 6-7; for low-melting point wax, it is 8-9.

10. The chemical constants of rice bran wax include saponification value, acid value, iodine value, etc.

Wax fat 85-90%, glycerolipid 8-10%, hydrocarbon 0-2%, sterols and sterol esters 0-1%, trace amounts of free acids, and gum impurities 2-5%. Wax fat is a mixture of aliphatic lipids with different carbon chain lengths, and is composed of a variety of fatty alcohols and fatty acids with different carbon chain lengths. Rice bran wax alcohol contains nine kinds of even-carbon fatty alcohols from C22 to C38 and a small amount of odd-carbon alcohols.
