Product Description

Sodium copper chlorophyllin is a dark green powder that is extracted from natural green plant tissues such as silkworm excrement, clover, alfalfa, bamboo, and other leaves using organic solvents such as acetone, methanol, ethanol, petroleum ether, etc. Copper ions are used to replace the magnesium ions in the chlorophyll center, while alkali is used to saponify it. The carboxyl groups formed after removing methyl and phytol groups become disodium salts. Therefore, sodium copper chlorophyllin is a semi synthetic pigment. Chlorophyll series pigments with similar structures and production principles include sodium iron chlorophyllin, sodium zinc chlorophyllin, etc.

Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin is a stable, water soluble derivative of Chlorophyll which is the naturally occurring pigment that gives plants their green hue. It has several functional benefits as an antioxidant, colorant and an internal deodorant.
